III Ponte de Lima Horse Fair
Today the 3rd edition from Ponte de Lima Horse Fair will start. This Portuguese equestrian event will be held at Ponte de Lima, a town located in the North of Portugal in the Minho region. There will be many equitation activities organized between the 25th and the 28th of June. This Horse Fair will start with the XII European Working Equitation Championships. Portugal will be present with a very strong working equitation team which includes the famous working equitation rider Pedro Torres.
There will be also horseball competitions organized within the Portuguese National Horseball league and dressage competitions within the Portuguese National Dressage Cup. There will be also other equestrian activities from which a special reference should be made to the Garrano horse Festival. Although the Garrano horse breed is not so well known as the Lusitano horse it has a particular importance in the Portuguese Minho region. Unless you travel to Minho, for instance to the Peneda-Gerês National Park, where you will be able to see Garrano horses running freely in the fields, there are not so many opportunities to see Garrano horses. Therefore for those who would like to know more about this Portuguese horse breed this event will be very interesting to attend.

Whenever June comes, all Portuguese are really awaits this kind of events. I’m part of those people who are eager to see this event every year. I really love to watch this because I’m a die-hard fan of Pedro Torres.
