XXI International Lusitano Horse Festival
The most important event dedicated to the Lusitano horse breed in Portugal will be starting today the 10th of June and will be going on until the 13th. The Lusitano horse is the best know and the most appreciated Portuguese horse breed. The International Lusitano Horse Festival is organized by the Portuguese Association of Lusitano Horse Breeders (Associação Portuguesa dos Criadores do Puro Sangue Lusitano – APSL) and will be held as usual in the last editions at Hipódromo Manuel Possolo in Cascais a beautiful town nearby Lisbon.
This Festival is organized every year in June and always has Lusitano horse lovers from many parts of the world. A large number of Portuguese Lusitano breeders will bring their sires, mares and foals to the competitions and shows at the Lusitano horse Festival. Therefore this Festival is certainly a good occasion for those interested to know how the Lusitano horse breed is evolving in Portugal. In this 2009 edition there will be the traditional championships for Lusitano horses and mares of several ages and Dressage and working equitation competitions. In addition in the edition of this year, the Festival will have a special show from the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art (Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre) which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
