Olive oil Biennial 2009
The Biennial of Olive oil is a nationwide event organized in Portugal about Portuguese olive oil. This event is organized in the city centre of Castelo Branco in the Portuguese olive oil region of Beira Baixa DOP. The dominant olive cultivar in this region is the Galega olive and its olive oils are golden yellow sometimes with a hint of green and a fruity taste. The Biennial of Olive oil 2009 will happen between the 29th and the 31st of May. The program includes olive oil tasting and an olive oil and design competition with 34 Portuguese olive oils from several Portuguese olive oil regions.
There are about 100 stands and 60,000 visitors are expected by the organizers. This olive oil event promotes and increases the knowledge about the innovation and tradition of Portuguese olive oils.
